Europe's chemicals sector at breaking point. Can SMRs step in to help?

MARCH 2025 | With more than 1.2 million direct jobs and over 30,000 companies (most of them SMEs), Europe's chemicals sector is one of the pillars of the continent's economy. But as we find out from the European Chemical Industry Council, CEFIC, this is a sector in peril. 

To get the chemical industry's take on energy costs, SMRs and low-carbon tech, and the the recently published Clean Industrial Deal, the Blue Nuclear Pod was joined by George Kapantaidakis, CEFIC's director of industrial policy, and Nicola Rega, the association's executive director for climate change and energy.
